OEM glass comes from the manufacturer that supplied your vehicle’s original windshield. OEE, commonly called aftermarket, is built by a different manufacturer to fit the same opening. Both must meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 205, which the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration enforces for all glazing sold in the United States. The differences that actually matter are dimensional tolerances, acoustic interlayers and optical quality through the camera window. Adhesive cure and drive-away time

The glass is bonded to the body with urethane adhesive, and that bond is what holds it in place under load. Urethane cures as a function of temperature and humidity, so a safe drive-away time is not a fixed number. It is whatever the adhesive manufacturer specifies for the conditions that day, and a Jackson January is a very different curing environment from a Jackson July.
